In order to care for my mother as she declined in health, I moved to suburbia and left my remote, rustic home in the Virginia countryside. I missed the acres of natural surroundings, but with the help of my housemates and friends, we planted everything we could on our 2/10th acre plot of land.

As the years passed, this land transformed into an ecological forest garden and Wildlife Habitat. It turns out that when one does not mow, trees (and more) grow! Each Spring, as the foliage and underbrush of new trees thickened, I worked to free myself from fear of the Homeowner’s Association’s yard police in a suburban world where I am not the norm.

I overcame the fears of my over-civilized mind and I deepened my relationship with Mother Gaia, the trees, and the unseen Beings of Co-creation that I had learned about many years ago in the writings of the Findhorn Community in Scotland (e.g. The Findhorn Garden: Pioneering a New Vision of Man and Nature in Cooperation, 1975).

My Defining Moment

As a student in a course with Gaia Mystic and High Priestess, Mare Cromwell , I connected with a new spirit guide who inspired me with a use for my of abundance of baby trees: make wands to honor Tree Fairies and to help others to connect with the trees, tree fairies, and all the Beings involved in Co-creation with Mother Gaia.

I wanted to confirm that this inspiration was of the Highest Good for me and all the trees in my care, so I asked the Overlighting Deva of my sphere of guardianship Her opinion. When I stepped outside to ask, immediately a flock of crows came close and circled above my head, cawing and chattering loudly in a way I had never experienced! With amazed joy I realized that I was being given a resounding, “Yes!”

Overcoming Challenges

One problem: I had never made a wand before! So I began the process of making prototypes. I consulted a loved one who is a Fairy Human (yes, some of us are nature spirits incarnated as humans) and together we shopped for decorations that would please a fairy (sparkly things). I used the needlework skills my mother and grandmother taught me as a child to wrap threads and taught myself how to incorporate beads. I sent prototypes to friends but the crystals fell off due to my lame first attempts to fasten them. I finally remembered a teaching from a dear friend, now passed, who used to make Atlantean wands: use copper to fasten the crystals and to enhance the energy flow. After a year of trial and error, I had a successful prototype to send to my nieces for the Winter Holidays.

The Result

My nieces were thrilled! And so am I. Now I can express my creativity, utilize the harvest in my yard, and best of all, hopefully re-ignite in others the childlike wonder and joy of joining with the unseen beings of Co-Creation. This actually assists Mother Gaia. Humans have an important role to play in bridging Celestial Realms of Light and Love to Nature.
