Since I am aware that there are many unseen beings involved in the process of co-creating Nature (for example, the ensouling Caregiver of our planet, Mother Gaia, elemental beings, and nature spirits, see below), I acknowledge them as I work in my garden. I think my parents must have done a good job of instilling manners in me because someone actually signed my high school yearbook saying that I was the “most polite person” they knew. Living many years since then has taught me that all beings deserve the respect that is embedded in saying “Please” and “Thank you.”
There are many other ways we can express our respect and honor the invisible ones who are working in our gardens along with us, including the ensouling spirits of the trees and growing ones. For example, before I prune trees, trim grass, weed, plant, etc., I tell the Overlighting Deva of my sphere of guardianship what I plan to do and ask her to let all involved know what I will doing, and thank her for her help. (The Overlighting Devas are also known as Landscape Angels. There are Devas for each species of plant or tree, as well. They hold and transmit the template for that species. The elemental beings and nature spirits follow those templates in the process of helping them to grow.)
Occasionally, I put out gifts for the Nature Spirits (see below), tobacco to honor Mother Gaia, and drum and dance for them all, especially during the magical transformation points of the Wheel of the Year, i.e. the Solstices, Equinoxes, and Cross-Quarter Days (halfway points between the Solstices and Equinoxes). May 1 is a Cross-Quarter Day.
There are many more ways to express our love and honor our unseen colleagues in our gardens and yards. To go deeper, research “Sacred Gardening." Or just follow your heart
The way I see it, in winter the underground world is awake with roots, minerals, fungi, creatures, elementals and nature spirits, anchoring in heavenly energies.
Listen to the beautiful, nature-inspired music of composer, Kate Sorge. This is her piece Wind in the Trees.
As the energies of the September Equinox 2023 portal started coming in, the epic co-creation of New Earth that is currently underway took a major step forward as new Gateways opened into Mother Gaia’s Elemental Harmonic Realm. These openings are now making it easier for humanity to communicate with the Nature Spirits (see below) and with the Elemental Beings.
Many people refer to the Elementals as Nature Spirits, but technically speaking, they are a different species. They were working here on Earth long before the Nature Spirits and Humanity!
The Elemental Beings anchor the Divine Light into the 4 elements of earth, air, fire, and water. They also purify the elements.

*Fairy Alert! It is recommended that you stand at your front door and command, “Only one fairy at a time is allowed in my home.” This is important because some fairies can get so caught up in play that they break electronics and other things.
DID YOU KNOW?
~ Tree Fairies are Nature Spirits that help trees to grow and heal.
~ Each tree is cared for by a Tree Fairy.
~ When people make friends with Nature Spirits, it helps the Nature Spirits to do their work. Making friends with a Tree Fairy will help the tree...and make you happy, too.
~ Most people can’t see Nature Spirits because the Nature Spirits are shy. But they do exist! Like the air, they are invisible, but they are there! Sometimes they do show themselves if all the conditions are right.
~ Times are changing. We are living in the Great Shift of Ages and more people are going to be aware of Nature Spirits!
